Hi there! I am Matthew aka Matt, one of the certified personal trainers here at 3FIT. Let’s just say fitness found me. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been active. From competing in TaeKwonDo to running cross country, sports and movement have been a huge part of my life. As an adult, I worked in the culinary industry as a Chef whipping up dishes for 7 long years. Although my love for food drew me toward it, the pull of fitness remained strong. That’s when I decided to switch gears and study exercise science at the age of 25.

College brought back sports in the form of volleyball. I also delved deeper into the importance of being fit and having a nutritious diet. A majority of diseases, including chronic conditions can be prevented and treated with proper exercise and diet.

I was well on my way to graduating when a serious car accident threw a curveball my way. Although it took an immense amount of work to regain my strength and mobility, the experience deepened my connection to having an active lifestyle and staying fit. It taught me how fortunate we are to be able to move and do the things we want to, reshaping my values to prioritize movement and health to continue doing what I love fearlessly. This life altering incident inspires me everyday as a personal trainer. I channel the motivation by helping my clients achieve a similar level of freedom and confidence in their bodies and minds.

Before joining 3FIT in the spring of 2021, I worked at a chain gym as well as a boutique gym. The close-knit community and the unique training philosophy that makes clients feel right at home at 3FIT particularly resonate with me. Through a combination of strength training, mobility exercises and functional movements, I help clients achieve their health goals to be able to do what they want to do.
