Dr. Myra has been involved in sports and fitness throughout her life. At an early age, she was on the Olympic Development program for soccer but her passion was cut short due to two early ACL surgeries in college. It was a blessing in disguise, as it was an opportunity for Dr. Myra to explore other fitness activities. She interned as personal trainer in college as she obtained her bachelor’s in kinesiology at CSU East Bay and earned her doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer West Chiropractic College where she graduated Cum Laude and was nominated as a candidate for Clinical Excellence.
She is a certified chiropractic sport practitioner and has worked on field events for soccer, basketball, and a semi-pro football team in the bay area. With her patients/clients, she believes in empowering them with knowledge to help them manage their injuries and/or daily aches and pains. In office, she combines corrective exercises and utilizes many myofascial techniques, such as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, myofascial decompression cup therapy, myofascial release, kinesio-taping, and chiropractic adjustments to get her patients back to do the things they love.
She enjoys a plethora of activities that includes, soccer, yoga, hiking, obstacle course racing, and powerlifting. She currently coaches high school soccer and Strong by Zumba classes. Outside of fitness, she loves spending time with her three cats, playing board games, collecting Pop Vinyl, and watching Big Bang Theory.
